Reidy Medical Supply was created by Rita and Ted Stitzel, in April of 1992. The focus for the company was the home care industry, with an emphasis on disposable medical supplies. This has evolved to include incontinence, wound care, urological, ostomy, diabetic, and patient safety products. Initially, the company would take orders from home care agencies, purchase stock from other wholesalers and fill the order the following day. As the orders progressed, the realization came that Reidy Medical needed to have its own inventory on hand. This would allow for faster delivery and improved customer service.
By 1994, Reidy Medical was ready to expand. This growth was marked by the purchase of a building in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In July of 1998, the company opened their second location in Lexington, Kentucky – then moved to Winchester in 2005. In July of 2008, the Winchester facility was transferred to a new building built specifically for Reidy Medical. Most recently, in May of 2010, the Ohio warehouse was moved to a larger, more modern facility in Stow, Ohio.
With the evolution of the home care industry, there was a movement to deliver supplies directly to the patients’ home. This is where Reidy Medical concentrates their efforts—with over 80% of shipments being delivered directly to a residence. Currently, the company serves over 500 patients per day and continues to grow based on a reputation for exceptional customer service and timely delivery.
